Coming soon to Android and iPhone
Convert, compress and extract audio. On your phone.
ClipSail makes a video easier to send, play or listen to. The work happens on your device, and the file you picked is never changed.
- Android 13 or later
- iOS 17 or later
- No account
- No automatic uploads
What it does
Three focused tasks. Nothing you have to learn first.
Make smaller
Shrink a video for chats and email. Pick Smaller, Balanced or Higher quality and see an estimate before you start.
Estimates are approximate. A smaller file isn't guaranteed.
Convert to MP4
Turn a supported video into an MP4 that plays on almost any phone, laptop or TV.
MP4 (H.264 + AAC), up to 1080p at 30 fps
Extract audio
Keep just the sound from a video, or convert an audio file you already have.
MP3 or M4A · from MP3, AAC and PCM audio
How it works
Pick a file. Choose what to make. Keep the copy.
- 1
Choose one file
From Photos or Files, or share it to ClipSail from another app. Up to 500 MB and 10 minutes.
- 2
Review the settings
See the output format, and for compression an estimated size, before anything starts.
- 3
Save or share
ClipSail checks the finished file before it's ready. Then save a copy, share it, or open it.
Your original is never overwritten or deleted. ClipSail works on a private copy.
Private by design
Your videos stay on your phone.
ClipSail converts on the device itself. A file leaves your phone only when you save it somewhere or share it yourself.
Converted on your device
The media engine runs on your phone, not on a server.
No account
Open the app and start. Nothing to sign up for.
No automatic uploads
Your media isn't sent anywhere unless you choose to.
Original untouched
ClipSail never overwrites or deletes the file you picked.
Questions
Before you try it
Does ClipSail upload my videos?
No. Conversion runs on your phone, and there are no automatic uploads. A file leaves your device only when you save it somewhere or share it yourself.
Why was my video turned away?
ClipSail only accepts files it has been tested with. Other files, including HDR video and protected media, are rejected before conversion starts, and your original isn't touched. See what's supported today.
Will compression always make my file smaller?
Not always. The size shown before you start is an estimate, and a smaller file isn't guaranteed. You see the real size before you save.
Can I leave the app while it works?
That depends on your phone's system. If a conversion is interrupted, ClipSail keeps it, and you can restart it when you come back.
Where does the finished file go?
It stays in ClipSail's Library. From there you can save a copy to your photos or files, share it, or open it in another app.
